Alex Hodder Memorial Scholarship for Youth
Soundbone Traditional Arts Foundation has recently established the Alex Hodder Memorial Scholarship for Youth. This scholarship aims to honour the life of Alex Hodder by supporting a young person (aged 13 to 18) who is passionate about traditional music and arts to attend Soundbone Traditional Arts Gathering. Alex was a wonderful budding musician who specialized in songwriting with guitar and voice. He loved Vinland Music Camp and his family wishes to honour his memory with one full scholarship to our summer event.
The successful candidate will receive a full scholarship to Soundbone Traditional Arts Gathering to be held at Lion Max Simms Memorial Camp near Bishop’s Falls from August 16th to 21st, 2026. This includes tuition, onsite room and board, and instrument rental (if needed). If the selected candidate is unable to attend, the scholarship will be offered to another candidate, or held over for another year.
