The Soundbone Summer Music Series in Musgrave Harbour offers audiences in Central Newfoundland the opportunity to hear many of the province’s top performing artists. From country and blues to folk and pop, there’s music to suit every taste. Prepare to be impressed and thrilled!
The performances will take place in the upstairs conference room of the Spindrift Inn in Musgrave Harbour, starting at 7:30PM (doors open at 7:00). Concert reservations can be made at 709-655-2175. Tickets can be purchased online (see below for details).

June 15 – Quote The Raven (folk duo)
This 60s inspired folk duo from Conception Bay South is known for their lush vocal harmonies and original songs. Listen to their music and hear them discuss their new album with Heather Barrett on CBC-Radio’s Weekend AM. Singer/songwriter Madison Mouland will be opening for them.
June 29 – Sherman Downey (Singer/songwriter)
Sherman Downey is a masterful songwriter and storyteller from Newfoundland. Downey’s live performance is charming, engaging and guaranteed to leave you feeling good.
After releasing his 2009 debut “Honey For Bees”, Sherman took his energetic performances to stages ranging from the Vancouver Olympics to Australia’s Woodford Folk Festival, earning international radio play. His highly anticipated second release “The Sun In Your Eyes” was awarded MusicNL’s ‘Pop/Rock Recording of the Year’ and earned him Newfoundland and Labrador’s ‘SOCAN Songwriter of the Year’ distinction. The album’s first single ‘Thick as Thieves’ won CBC’s inaugural Searchlight Prize and ‘Canada’s Best New Artist’ accolade, while increasing his profile as a touring act and garnering an even broader fan base.
July 13 – Kat McLevey (singer/songwriter) with Maria Peddle (singer/fiddler)
Since entering the vibrant music scene in her hometown of St. John’s in 2012, multi- instrumentalist and songwriter Kat McLevey has become one of Newfoundland and Labrador’s most prestigious up-and-coming singer/ songwriters. She shows a depth well beyond her years, combining her strong sense of melody, articulate guitar playing and clever lyrical approach to create a style reminiscent of many, yet still all her own.

July 27– Nick Earle and Joe Coffin (blues singers/guitarists)
Joe Coffin and Nick Earle are young emerging blues artists from St. John’s. Adopting a distinctive style which is well beyond their years, they draw inspiration from blues greats such as Robert Johnson, Eric Clapton and Muddy Waters. Rich soulful vocals paired with blow-your-mind guitar solos are just two of the descriptions that come to mind when watching these two execute their skills.
August 3 – Dianne Quinton and Horizon Ridge (country blues band)
With influences from blues, country and rock to traditional & contemporary folk and gospel, Dianne Quinton and Horizon Ridge are versatile and adventurous. Throw in some traditional and contemporary a capella and you have a band that is truly multifaceted. Their repertoire includes a variety of original compositions and covers.
August 17 – Gary and Whit (country/folk duo)
Gary & Whit are a duo in every sense of the word. Comprised of husband and wife, Gary and Whitney French, they are the perfect blend with their romantic harmonies and candid lyrics. Gary is also known for his work as an award winning solo artist while Whitney is an award winning visual artist. With Gary on acoustic guitar/vocals and Whitney on vocals, they marry each of their passions to become Gary & Whit. Taking cues from the folk and inspirational genres, this singer-songwriter duo creates honest songs with the ability to inspire. Gary & Whit are from Goose Bay, NL and are now based on the West Coast of the island in Corner Brook.
All concerts are on Wednesday evenings beginning at 7:30 PM (doors open at 7:00 PM)
